    Fights Fur Furiously

We just got our . It was simple to setup and charged in about two hours. We have run it once downstairs and upstairs.THE PLANThe plan is to run it during the day upstairs and to run it at night downstairs. The first problem we noted is that the schedule only seems to allow one time per day. This is ok since we have to carry it upstairs for the day runs. So, we just start it as we live in the morning. When we return, we put on the charger and let it clean at 2AM downstairs.OBSERVATIONSThe upstairs (approx. 1000 sqft) is a combination of wood floors, tile in the bathrooms, scatter rugs (bath style and oriental). Roomba did a good job covering an awkward area. We captured a full bin of hair from the dogs. The only problem is that it got caught in the... 5/5 Jack V. Love it...wish I hadn't waited so long to get one.

I don't have to vacuum anymore and my floors have never been so clean. I scheduled it to run every day. It is amazing how much dust and other debris this thing picks up. All it takes is a 5 minute clean up of the Roomba each day-dump the bin, shake out the filter and clean the 2 rollers. It runs just over an hour before going back to base to charge. I have a large house, I run it in the main living area each day, and I move it manually to other parts of my house about 2x a month. My father bought one instanty after seeing how well mine cleaned-he is very critical of everything, but has no complaints about his 650. My 3 year old daughter & I named it Rico-she loves watching daddy's "robot" run around the house. It is much quieter than a conventional vacuum-I can watch TV while it runs, but I schedule it to run after I leave in the morning.A couple of tips:Vacuum one time yourself before setting this thing loose-it makes a world of difference in the performance.Pick... 5/5 Rowe - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) 0 5/5 drexel75 - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: iRobot Roomba 560 Vacuum Cleaner - Refurbished (Electronics) I used to have to vacuum everyday because of dog hair. Now this roomba does it for me and gets the carpets a whole lot cleaner than my other vacuum.EDIT: One year later and this baby keeps ticking. This is by far the best purchase i have made of my entire life. Im not kidding. I have a German Shedder that keeps the floor covered in hair and this thing takes care of it. Refurbished? only difference is i got a better deal. Ive dropped this thing numerous times and it keeps ticking. spilled stuff on it. you name it. Just needs maintenence to keep it clean - the brushes collect hair after a while. Im only on my second filter - they last a long time. Its about time to change the brushes but it still works like a charm.Summary: If you have a bad shedding animal then this item will change your life. no more vacuuming everyday. You do have to empty it everyday but thats easy to do. Buy this now if you got fur problems. It cleans the floor like you wouldnt believe. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , June 8, 2012

0 4/5 Gary "GR" (Chicago, IL) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: iRobot Roomba 560 Vacuum Cleaner - Refurbished (Electronics) The pros:You can schedule it to clean and never touch it again except to empty the dirt.It does a good job of cleaning hardwood floors on my main level (kitchen, hall, living and dining rooms), moves around furniture nicely, and is reliable. The floor never looks dirty or dusty, and there is always a good deal of dirt in the unit to empty indicating that it works.Ihe Cons:It is a little loud, and more importantly it tends to climp up the leg of a coffee table and just shut off.I do recommend the unit, it saves me a great deal of effort every week. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , August 26, 2011

The Roomba 500 series almost perfected.

I've got three Roomba 500s (a pair of 560s and a 570), and I love 'em. Rock solid reliable, easy to work on, and do a great job keeping my floors clean. These Roombas aren't toys, they actually clean the floors. In fact I've gone behind them with my Dyson just out of morbid curiosity and all I got was an empty bin. Sure, a Roomba can't pick up as much dirt as a regular vacuum in one pass, but that's why they're programmed to cover the same area of carpet multiple times. And in some ways the Roomba is better than my Dyson. Why?Areas of my house that get vacuumed every week without effort:* Under my bed.* Under my dresser.* In the back corners of my closet where a regular vacuum can't go.* Underneath my reclining theater seats.* Under my basement work bench and utility sink.* ...and on and on...The 600s series is even better, as they include the Aero Vac dust bin, and the upgraded cleaning head module from the 700... 5/5 Ryan Barnhart (Cincinnati, OH USA) - See all my reviews, September 24, 2012

    IRobots never die

This is my fourth IRobot and they never seem to die. The first three are still going strong after several years of use, without any problems or any repairs aside from a yearly new battery. Just make sure to leave these plugged into the wall, sitting in their docks, all the time to keep the battery from dying prematurely. It also helps to preserve the battery to fully run them at least once a week but it's not critical to do that.I empty the dirt canisters and clean the brushes after every use, which I don't find to be a problem at all. I have a Scuba also, the floor mopping robot, of the same brand, and it also is a workhorse. I've told all my friends about my IRobots, and several have gotten them and love them too. One of them said that after a while his Roomba started going in circles but I told him to turn it over and check out the brush and front wheel for anything caught on it and sure enough, he cleaned a long thread from the front drive wheel and it's good as... 5/5 AKN - See all my reviews, October 19, 2012

    iRobot 630 best purchase!

0 5/5 KHenery - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: iRobot Roomba 630 Vacuum Cleaning Robot for Pets (Misc.) I recently purchased the iRobot 630 for Pets and it has gone above and beyond my expectations. I have an 80 lb. Lab and a huge longhaired cat, so I was skeptical of how this vacuum would handle all of the animal hair and dirt they track inside. I have to say this vacuum does a better job than I do manually vacuuming with my Dyson! My roomba carefully cleans along the baseboard and legs of furniture with her brush to remove any and all traces of pet hair, dust, and debris. As well, it has no problem cleaning an assortment of rugs including a large cowhide. The iRobot uses a zig zag type manuever to ensure all 1200 sq ft is perfectly clean. Cleaning the brushes and emptying the disposal unit is a breeze, and it keeps its charge for about 2 hours. After it has finished its cleaning cycle, or is tired the Roomba carefully docks itself back onto the charger. I would definately reccomend this product! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , September 21, 2012

    Amazing

A year ago my wife and I bought a fairly large house with beautiful dark hardwood floors throughout. Now add nine (9) grandchildren and constant, never-ending construction in the backyard and you can imagine how difficult it has been to keep the floors clean. After researching all the usual suspects, we settled on the Roomba 595 because of that model's cost/benefit and the preponderance of very positive reviews. Although we were still skeptical, we thought we would give it a try because of the liberal return policy of Costco.Bottom-line after 2 weeks of us getting acquainted with Olga...she is simply amazing. I say get acquainted because it took some time to discover her idiosyncrasies. Roomba 500 Series Review

I have read so many reviews for the Roomba & Scooba and I have found so many people have so many great things to say and others say it's just OK, while some hate it.I'm here to set the record straight on these Robots. First off, I don't work for get compensated from iRobot nor do I sell them. Here's the low down on the Roomba. There are many different models sold by different stores, Sams Club, Costco, iRobot Direct or other retailers. Some of them are the same model, just come with extra virtual walls, filters, brushes etc. I have owned 3 different model Roomba's all in the 500 series line. I returned my first one because it was white and I really wanted a black one but could not find it anywhere. OK, so I'm biased on the color of my electronics, yes, I like all black electronics in my home. The second was returned after I found another 500 series black one that had a built in scheduler which is a MUST HAVE in my opinion if you truly want to automate... 5/5 Andrew (Fort Lauderdale, FL USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Irobot Roomba 595 Series I have read so many reviews for the Roomba & Scooba and I have found so many people have so many great things to say and others say it's just OK, while some hate it.I'm here to set the record straight on these Robots. Roombaaaa!

0 5/5 Goki - See all my reviews This review is from: Irobot Roomba 595 Series I bought this item from Costco for less price and I should say I am satisfied more than I was expecting. It works as it is advertised and as being a computer scientist I find the AI algorithm that makes it a "robot" very smart and consistent. Recommendations to buyers:*Before running the first time do your own usual vacuum cleaning.*Before running the robot do some tiny plannings like where to put virtual doors in order to share the whole house into separate tasks.*Try to be careful about items on the floor before start using. In fact this pushes people living in the house to be well organized all time. I think this is one of the parts of the game :)* I prefer to clean it every three days.* Run it every day. But each run per day should be a small area or one roomMe and my wife are not doing vacuum cleaning anymore since roomba takes care of it when we are not at home... 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , September 27, 2012

    What Fun!

In a newly remodeled house with laminate wood floors, I see a lot of dust everyday; Roomba 770 has been a good fit. What I've noticed after three weeks of daily use - the pros:- Roomba does a great job in empty rooms; the entire downstairs comes out dust free.- Works well under beds, chairs, wide tables, and kitchen cabinet toekick.- Has great sensors for walls, boxes, pillows, and goes beautifully over heavy rugs back onto hardwood.- Roomba didn't like the fringe on my oriental carpets, but it didn't choke on it like my big vacuum did and kept on going.- The electronic barriers work well, but there is a learning curve on how to place them properly (The signal is cone-shaped). These need 2 "C" batteries each (4 total, not included).- It is not difficult to maintain: emptying the dust collection, removing brushes and using brush cleaner, wiping off sensors, moving it to a new room. The cons:- need to watch Roomba do a room before... 4/5 Holly H (Pasadena, CA) - See all my reviews This review is from: iRobot Roomba 760 Vacuum Cleaning Robot for Pets and Allergies (Kitchen) In a newly remodeled house with laminate wood floors, I see a lot of dust everyday; Roomba 770 has been a good fit. I'm likin' this model!

I saved up and bought this Roomba for my enclosed patio when both of my Dirt Dogs passed away and IRobot stopped making them....sigh....I really miss being able to use the Dirt Dog to sweep outside and in the garage. The IRobot people said this unit would work just fine in those areas, but I'm not going to put something I spent this much money on to clean up dropped screws and leaves! That said, I like this Roomba very much in our enclosed patio. I LOVE the two HEPA filters, which are easily blown out with a can of air or compressor after a vacuuming sesson. They're picking up a lot of dust that my regular vacuum misses....Ok, that I miss when I'm using the regular vacuum, which also has a HEPA filter. They pick up feathers and seeds from the birds, and lots of hair from the cats and dog. Mission accomplished. It does a nice job of moving from hard surfaces (concrete, in this case) to rugs, and cleaning them all well. Technology is really improved in this... 4/5 Janet "intersectionc" (GILROY, CA USA) - See all my reviews, October 22, 2011

    New Roomba vs. Old

If you are new to Roomba, you will wonder if it is worthwhile. The answer is clearly YES, since anything it cleans is that much less for you to clean. However, which is better, the old (and cheaper) Roomba, or the new models like the 530?First, the 530 comes with the charging/base station, and this is very useful. I have placed this in the entranceway which leads into the livingroom, the kitchen or the bedroom. Using the virtual walls (included), I block off rooms so that it can only do the entranceway + 1 other room. I simply press the "Clean" button, and it backs itself off the charging stand and then spends the next 2 hours cleaning, finally returning to the charging stand. Nice!Should you upgrade from an older model Roomba (I now use my old Roomba upstairs)? It depends on your situation. By-the-way, the old virtual walls do NOT work with the new Roomba.New Roomba:Fall down stairs? NeverClimb onto thick throw rugs... 4/5 D. C. It's Like a Beloved Pet Who MAKES EVERYTHING BETTER

Awesome. This new generation fixes all the problems of the previous. Much smarter, much bigger dust bin, much better in every way. Great that it self-docks when tired. Maintanence is a snap...really could not be easier/faster. There are some negatives - how could there not be? - but this thing has such a contagious personality that it starts feeling like your pet, and you're inclined to forgive, and even find the faults charming. You have to prep the room (cords up and out of the way, no papers or clutter on the floor, move small items out of the room and learn which objects present problems and get them out of the way). Performance varies on throw rugs (it's great on rug/carpet surfaces themselves, but Roomba can get caught up as it travels over edges of throw rugs that don't have much weight or cling). It's good at slowing down and banging objects gently, but less so on narrow vertical objects (e.g. piano legs), which it really clunks (not enough to damage, but it will... 5/5 New Yawkuh "New Yawkuh" (Queens, NY United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: iRobot 530 Roomba Vacuuming Robot, White (Kitchen) Awesome. It seems to pick up more dirt, the battery life is longer, the fast-charge is about 33% more rapid than its Discovery predecessors and it is generally more quiet. The new sensors that prevent the robot from "speed-bumping" into furniture are a very nice touch, but beware if the robot is in a tight area, it may appear sluggish -- the sensors are working to continually slow it down. It's a feature I like, but need to get used to.My only concern with this robot is the high cost of parts. The bot itself is cheaper than earlier models but the components most prone to breakage or wear-out are twice the cost so the lifetime operation costs may be higher. Replacement batteries are nearly $100. Earlier models were $50.ONE MONTH LATER ....This is a slight amend to my review above. Having used it for a month a couple points of... 5/5 damg1 "damg" (Tulsa, OK) - See all my reviews This review is from: iRobot 530 Roomba Vacuuming Robot, White (Kitchen) With two dogs in the house we could not live without our Roomba. I like the Roomba, but this is expensive

I have had Roomba's for years... They do require a little maintenance (Brush cleaning, cleaning the pet hair from the ends of the rollers) but overall they are pretty great. Cleaning the brushes is no big deal, I do it when I empty the bin. It takes a minute or two to empty the bin and clean the brushes, and it's ready to go.We have two pugs, and they shed constantly. The 500 series Roomba's are a pretty huge improvement in design (I am a mechanical design engineer) They have redesigned the roomba to make everything modular, so if something does wear out, it is very easy to replace. My old Roomba was the first model with the scheduling ability, and I did have to replace a few things. I had to replace some transmission parts, and the batteries. Of course, I had to replace the brushes and filters many times over the years. I upgraded the batteries to give it more time to vaccuum, but the 550 seems to be pretty great right out of the box. It can run for almost two hours... 3/5 K. Williams "Keldawwg" (Brentwood, California USA) - See all my reviews, January 20, 2010

For reasons I won't go into other than to say you can never get the nasty stuff completely clean no matter how many times you vacuum and shampoo, I hate it. I have four cats, one very messy African Grey parrot and two elementary aged children so, naturally, I could sweep or vacuum every room in the house three times a day. Being an extremely busy person and wanting to do everything except sweep, a robotic vacuum cleaner sounded like manna from heaven.I have drooled over the Roomba for a long while and have researched it endlessly. A co-worker has one and just loves it. Because of the price, though, I thought it was out of my reach until one day a couple of weeks ago when I checked my email. There it was---the Roomba was a Gold Box Deal and it was more than half off!!! Oh, yeah! The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly Truth

First the good. It probably works better than your current vacumn cleaner. It really does vacumn well. We have a vacation rental home that is vacumned every two days. The Roomba made it even cleaner. Customer support is good, while the vacumn is under warrenty. Once its out of warrenty, it is out of warrenty. I would buy it with a credit card that doubles the warrenty. Will discuss further on the ugly section. You do have to "set-up" your house for the vacumn. But it is no big deal. It will stick under some cabinets. Placing a piece of wood solves that problem. Fine cords need to be picked up, before the vacumn does it for you. Some furniture legs that are about 3/4 inch high will high center the machine and stop it dead in its tracks. It will vacumn about 800 sq. feet on a charge fairly well. We quit using the Guards after one or two uses and just shut doors or blocked off doorways. The bad. This vacumn cleaner generation is equivalent to the... 5/5 509 (Wenatchee, WA) - See all my reviews First the good. It probably works better than your current vacumn cleaner. 0 5/5 Rita Mizell (houston texas) - See all my reviews This review is from: Irobot® Roomba® 585 Vacuum Cleaning Robot with AeroVac Technology (Kitchen) Forever, I have been sweeping and vacuuming my house every day because of two dogs and a cat, 2 parrots. I saw this at Costco and on a whim bought it. It was all ready to charge, and then push the button, and omg, it cleaned my whole house better than I ever have, behind chairs, under chairs, tables, corners, unbelievable!! I had to empty the dust bin twice, completely full of pet fur and dirt, and I was thinking the floors were already fairly clean. Don't even think about it, just get one I will run it every day and pretend the maid just left. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , February 3, 2013

cleans effectively in a house with dogs and many birds

I have 2 dogs and seventeen birds. The bin is large enough to clean my bird room if used every three days, otherwise it would stop before the floor was finished. When it hits a power cord it switches from clean mode to escape from the cord mode until it gets away from it, so moving power cords to where they won't get in its way will result in a more thorough job. This model only comes with one spare filter and one virtual wall, which in a poor design decision was made to take c batteries. Since rechargeable c batteries are overpriced compared to AA, I simply fold a sheet of paper each around the two AA batteries to make them fit. This method worked fine in allowing me to use AA rechargeable batteries on the virtual wall instead of c batteries and isn't hard to do with just two batteries. The virtual wall turns itself off after 1.5 hours to conserve power so I haven't had to recharge them yet. The virtual wall has been working fine to restrict Roomba to one room at a... 4/5 Kurt Massat - See all my reviews This review is from: Irobot® Roomba® 585 Vacuum Cleaning Robot with AeroVac Technology (Kitchen) I have 2 dogs and seventeen birds. not the same Roomba??

0 5/5 Ms Lulubelle "Lulubelle" (Maryland) - See all my reviews This review is from: Irobot® Roomba® 585 Vacuum Cleaning Robot with AeroVac Technology (Kitchen) I bought this on a whim at Sam's Club and will have to say, buy it at Amazon instead! I got only one Lighthouse and no remote. However, it picks up a lot more dirt than I thought I it would, so I'm pretty happy with it.It can't read your mind, so instead of cleaning the kitchen like I want it to, it keeps going back into the TV room. I'll have to figure out some barriers to keep it in one room at a time.I have 2 dogs and 2 cats, and the dogs bring in real dirt along with the hair and dust, and my pet Roomba actually picks it all up. This little critter will make less work for me. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , March 11, 2013

Review From A Robotic Vacuum Junkie!!

Customer Video Review Length:: 5:52 Mins As some of you may know by now I love Robotic Vacuums so any chance I get to right a review on one I take it. Over the past 7 years I have owned probably over 12 robotic vacuums. Most being Irobot Roombas. I started with the Roomba Red and feel in love since. The Roomba Red performed very well for an early bird on the robotic vacuum market. I have owned almost all models of the Roomba all the way up to the current 670 I own. I also own a Neato XV11 and a LG Hombot. At one time I even had a Canadian Samsung Navibot and loved it until it wore out. Ok now onto the main star for today the Moneual MR6550 Rydis. Hope you had a chance to view my short video and if it helps anyone then that is great. I received the Rydis about a week ago and was very impressed with the packaging, not cheap, but very well designed and a lot of details were printed on exterior but who really cares about the outside it's what is side that counts. I quickly unboxed it and... 4/5 Michael Countryman "mike the camera man" (pelzer, sc) - See all my reviews, February 25, 2013

Adequate, but not great - 3.5 stars

The biggest problem I have with this unit is the lack of a floor-height sensor. We have about 2,000 square feet of hardwood downstairs, but all the bedrooms are carpeted and the bathrooms and laundry room are tiled. The 3/4" hardwood stands 1 1/2" higher than the tile or carpet, as there is 3/4" plywood foundation under it. The robot will drive off the wood and then promptly get stuck in whatever room it comes to. You MUST close doors if you use this on hardwoods, or you'll be searching for your stranded robot. The vacuum works fairly well, but it is not revolutionary by any means. My wife and I got it set up and put it to work and found that the vacuuming power of the unit is not that great, as we put sawdust on a rug and let the robot loose. The robot started by making random passes at what appeared to be 45-degree angles and didn't really come back to cover the areas it missed. It just ran off the edge of the rug, then onto the hardwood and down the hall. It... 4/5 TheTerrorBeyond (Tartarus) - See all my reviews This review is from: Moneual MR6550 Rydis Hybrid Robot Vacuum and Dry Mop Cleaner (Misc.) Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?) Flawed design--not ready for consumers

I've been running the Moneual for a few months now, and I've definitely concluded that it is way inferior to my latest-generation Roomba. In fact, it drives me nuts and sometimes barely works. It is constantly (constantly!) getting stuck on everything from heating vents in the floor to literally the wall itself--it starts climbing the molding and gets stuck half on the wall. It is also constantly getting clogged on the input slot. The pet hair/dirt/whatever gets in the slot but not all the way into the dust trap, so it clogs and either gives an error message or keeps going without picking much more up. I have to use a hand vacuum to clear the input slot at least twice on an average run.Over and over, the Roomba makes me happy and this Moneual irritates me. If you are going to buy a robotic floor vacuum, I urge you not to spend your money on this vacuum but choose a Roomba instead.Other thoughts: In one test I did, I ran each robot on different... 1/5 Unity Dienes (Hollis, NH) - See all my reviews, March 14, 2013
